Our Story

From the Streets of Ibadan: The Relentless Rise of My Nigerian Roots

I’m Dolapo Adedayo(founder of Trend Hijacking)and my journey starts in Ibadan, Nigeria. Growing up in a lower-middle-income family, I watch my mother work tirelessly as the main breadwinner. Her sacrifices ignite my ambition to improve our circumstances. With a First Class Honours degree from the University of Lagos, I launch “DaQ Style,” an African clothing brand, but it fails to take off. Despite this setback, I remain determined to forge a path to success.

From Kitchen Drudgery to Visionary Hustle: My UK Breakthrough

Driven by the need for change, I move to the UK, where I start as a kitchen porter. The job is grueling—70-hour weeks with minimal sleep, working day and night. I crash on my uncle’s couch, barely getting four hours of rest. The exhaustion is overwhelming, but I’m fueled by the hope of a better future and the advice from my uncle to learn something new.

Side Hustles and Setbacks: Forging My Path to Entrepreneurship

To escape the grind, I explore side hustles like photography charging £250-500 per session. I also try flipping cars and publishing a book (Mind-Blowing Secrets on How Brands and Designers Lure You to Buy More and Stay Broke) under the pen name Ellen Johnson. Despite my efforts, these ventures don’t yield the success I seek, but they teach me valuable lessons about resilience and adaptation.

Cracking the eCommerce Code: My Journey into Digital Gold

In late 2019, I discover Shopify dropshipping. I dive into learning with a passion, navigating a maze of YouTube videos and courses. After multiple failures, including issues with Amazon dropshipping, I finally crack the code to successful eCommerce. My persistence pays off as I start generating consistent sales, setting the stage for bigger achievements.

From Frustration to Fortune: My eCommerce Triumph

My breakthrough comes when I achieve $12,000 in sales in just 5 days. Within one year, I surpass $3,000,000 in total sales, transforming my financial situation and lifestyle. This success marks a turning point, proving that with the right strategies and unwavering determination, remarkable results are possible.

Recognizing the potential to help others, I develop an expert team to launch Trend Hijacking where we use a unique system to leverage trending products to quickly build and scale eCommerce brands.
